Boom barrier in Delhi: supply, installation and AMC

Automatic boom barriers for residential colony gates, office and commercial buildings, industrial units, hospitals and paid parking in Delhi. We survey the gate, suggest the right barrier and control method, install it and maintain it under an AMC.

Who buys boom barriers in Delhi

Delhi is very different from the newer cities around it. Most sites are older, roads are narrower and many gates were never planned for vehicle control. The enquiries we see from Delhi usually fall into these groups:

  • RWA colonies and apartment societies. Many residents' welfare associations want to control vehicles at colony entry points, especially at night. Group housing societies in Dwarka, Rohini and East Delhi have their own compounds and can usually treat the gate like any private society gate. Plotted colonies are different, because the gate often sits on a road that is not private property (see the note below).
  • Office and commercial buildings in business districts such as Connaught Place, Nehru Place, Jasola, Saket and the district centres. Parking is usually in a basement or a small front forecourt, so the barrier has to work in a tight space and open quickly enough to avoid a queue on the main road.
  • Industrial units and warehouses in areas such as Okhla, Naraina, Mayapuri, Wazirpur, Bawana and Narela. These gates handle trucks and tempos, so they need a longer straight arm, a sturdy drive and a record of vehicles coming in and going out.
  • Hospitals, malls, hotels and institutions where the barrier is part of paid or controlled parking, often with a ticket dispenser or a parking management system.
  • Government offices and public sector buildings, which often buy against a written specification or tender. If you are buying this way, send us the specification and we will tell you which models meet it.

A note on colony gates on public roads

In many Delhi colonies the internal roads are public roads. Before installing a gate or barrier on such a road, an RWA generally needs to check the rules with the local civic body and the police, and the barrier must not block emergency vehicles or public movement. We are not able to give legal advice or get these permissions for you, but we can share the gate details and drawings you may need, and we design the barrier so that it can be opened instantly by the guard and lifted by hand in an emergency.

Choosing a boom barrier for a Delhi site

  • Gate width and space around it. Older Delhi gates are often narrow, with a wall, a guard room or a tree right next to the barrier position. We measure the lane and the space for the cabinet, and suggest a shorter arm or a folding arm where a straight arm will not fit.
  • Basement headroom. Many commercial basements have low beams and ducts at the ramp. A folding arm, or a barrier placed at a different point on the ramp, avoids the arm striking the ceiling.
  • How vehicles are identified. A remote is enough for a small gate. UHF long-range tags suit residents and staff, FASTag readers can use the tag most cars already carry, and ANPR cameras read the number plate without any tag. For buildings that already use cards for staff, the barrier can be linked to the same access control system.
  • Mixed traffic. Delhi gates see cars, two-wheelers, cycle-rickshaws and pedestrians at the same entry. A fence (skirt) arm under the boom, or a separate pedestrian and two-wheeler gate, keeps the vehicle lane under control.
  • Weather and dust. Summer heat, monsoon waterlogging at low gates and winter dust all affect outdoor equipment. We check drainage at the gate, raise the base where needed and choose a cabinet with a suitable IP rating.
  • Power cuts and safety. Every barrier can be lifted by hand, and battery backup can be added. A loop detector in the road and IR photocells stop the arm from coming down on a vehicle.

What supply, installation and AMC includes

  • Site survey at your gate in Delhi, with measurements, photos and a written recommendation on arm type, length, lanes and control method.
  • Supply of a genuine barrier with the manufacturer warranty, plus readers, tags, loop detector and photocells as required.
  • Installation: base preparation, anchoring, loop cutting in the road, cabling and setting the open and close limits.
  • Integration with UHF readers, ANPR, access control, a visitor management system or a parking system, and enrolment of resident or staff tags.
  • Handover and training for your guards and facility team, with a test of every function.
  • AMC with scheduled preventive maintenance and breakdown support, as described on our AMC page. We also take over AMC of barriers installed by others after checking them.

How site visits and service work for Delhi

We do not have an office in Delhi. Our only office is at M-14, Old DLF Colony, Sector 14, Gurugram, and our engineers travel into Delhi for surveys, installation and service. Visits are fixed by appointment, so please share the gate location, gate width and a few photos on WhatsApp first. That lets the engineer bring the right measurements, samples and, for an existing barrier, the likely spare parts on the first visit.

Questions from Delhi buyers

Do you install boom barriers in Delhi?

Yes. Our engineers travel from our Gurugram office to sites across Delhi for surveys, installation and AMC visits. Visits are fixed by appointment.

Can an RWA install a boom barrier at a colony gate?

Many RWAs do, but if the gate is on a public road the RWA should first check the rules with the local civic body and police. The barrier must be easy to open for emergency vehicles. We can share gate details and drawings you may need.

Which boom barrier suits a narrow Delhi gate?

A shorter straight arm or a folding arm usually works. We measure the lane and the space beside it before suggesting a model.

Can the barrier work with our existing staff access cards?

Often yes. If your access control system can send an open signal, the barrier controller can use it. We check this during the survey.
