Who buys tripod turnstiles in Manesar
In Manesar the tripod turnstile is mostly a factory product. It usually stands at the outer workers’ gate, where hundreds of people pass every shift and the gate is only partly covered. The sites we hear from most are:
- Plants in IMT Manesar, including automotive, auto-component, engineering and electronics units, where the turnstile is the workers’ entry and each pass also counts as the attendance punch. The covered admin entrance often has a flap barrier instead.
- Vendor and smaller supplier units in the industrial sectors, which want one or two lanes and a simple attendance report without a big software project.
- Warehouses and logistics parks along NH-48, the KMP Expressway and the Pataudi road side, where temporary staff are added in busy seasons and access has to be given and removed quickly.
- Canteen entries inside plants, where the turnstile counts meals per shift.
Planning for shift buses
At many Manesar plants workers do not arrive one by one; a shift bus stops at the gate and 40 to 50 people get off together, then the next bus arrives a few minutes later. This shapes the design more than anything else:
- Lane count from the real peak. We count buses and people at your busiest shift change and size the lanes so one busload clears before the next arrives. Fully automatic units, where the arm turns by itself, keep the line moving better than semi-automatic ones at this volume.
- Bi-directional lanes. Incoming and outgoing shifts often cross at the same time. Lanes that can be switched between entry and exit, or a fixed split, are set according to your shift timetable.
- Queue space. The area in front of the turnstiles should hold a full busload off the road, with railings to form straight lines. We look at this during the survey, because it affects where the turnstiles should stand.
- Reader speed. Face readers must recognise people quickly in a moving line. We place them at the right height and away from direct sun and headlights.
Other points for a Manesar plant gate
- Several contractors. Plants often run labour through more than one contractor. Workers can be grouped by contractor, with access ending on the contract end date, so the HR team can see headcount per contractor and old cards or faces stop working on their own.
- Open gate, heat and rain. A tripod suits a semi-open gate better than a flap barrier, but readers still need shade. We suggest a canopy, a raised level base so rainwater drains away, and outdoor-rated readers.
- Climb-over risk. A tripod is waist-high. Where the boundary is open, a full height turnstile is the safer choice, and we will say so honestly.
- Exit and material checks. If guards check bags at the out-gate, the exit lanes need space for that table, or a door frame metal detector on the exit side.
- Fire safety. A drop-arm model lets the arm fall on power failure or a signal from the fire alarm panel, which helps in evacuation and safety audits.
- Attendance and payroll. If you already use biometric attendance software, we check whether the turnstile readers can send punches to it, so workers do not punch twice.
What decides the cost
We do not publish a fixed price. It changes with semi or fully automatic operation, single or bi-directional lanes, the reader (face, card, fingerprint or QR), the number of lanes, software and attendance integration, and site work such as the base, canopy, railings and cabling. After the survey you get a written, itemised quotation so you can compare offers on the same scope.
What supply, installation and AMC include
- Site survey: shift timetable and bus arrivals, peak headcount, lane count, queue space, base and canopy, power and network points.
- Supply of SS304 tripod turnstiles with readers, controller and software.
- Installation: anchoring, cabling in conduit, configuration, enrolment help and training for guards, HR and admin, planned around your shifts.
- AMC: preventive visits, checks of the arm mechanism, solenoids, readers and drop-arm function, software updates and breakdown support.
Site visits and service from Gurugram
We do not have an office in Manesar. Surveys, installation and service visits are planned from our office at M-14, Sector 14, Gurugram, which is on the same NH-48 side as Manesar. Engineers follow your plant’s gate pass and safety induction rules, and we fix visit times so the gate is not stopped at shift change. Many faults can be checked first over phone or WhatsApp with a photo or short video, so the engineer arrives with the likely spare part.

Questions from Manesar buyers
Do you install tripod turnstiles in IMT Manesar?
Yes. We supply and install tripod turnstiles at workers’ gates and canteen entries in IMT Manesar and nearby warehouses, with face, card or fingerprint readers and attendance reports, and support them under AMC. Visits are planned from our Gurugram office.
How many turnstile lanes do we need for shift buses?
It depends on how many people arrive together and how close the buses come. We count your busiest shift change during the survey and size the lanes so one busload clears before the next arrives.
Can access be managed contractor-wise?
Yes. Workers can be grouped by contractor with an end date on their access, so reports show headcount per contractor and access stops when a contract ends.
Is a tripod turnstile enough at an open factory gate?
It works well at a semi-open gate with a canopy and outdoor-rated readers. If the boundary is open and people could climb over, a full height turnstile is safer.
What is the price of a tripod turnstile in Manesar?
It depends on semi or fully automatic operation, lane count, the reader, software and site work such as the base, canopy and railings. We send a written, itemised quotation after the survey.
