Where a full height turnstile makes sense in Gurugram
A full height turnstile is a floor-to-head-height rotor in a steel frame. Only one person passes per valid card, face or fingerprint, and nobody can jump over or crawl under it. That is why Gurugram sites use it at gates that are open, unmanned for part of the day, or where tailgating is a real risk:
- Factory and warehouse perimeter gates in Udyog Vihar Phase 1 to 6, Sector 37, Khandsa and Daulatabad, and the logistics parks along NH-48 and the KMP Expressway. The turnstile sits at the workers’ boundary gate, while the vehicle gate has a boom barrier.
- Construction sites on Dwarka Expressway, Southern Peripheral Road and the new sectors, where builders want each labourer counted in and out and the site closed at night.
- Data centres, server rooms and stores in office campuses, where only listed staff should enter and every pass must be logged.
- Hostels, labour colonies and back-of-house gates of malls and hotels that need a fixed in and out time without a guard on duty all night.
Full height, tripod or flap barrier?
For a covered office lobby a flap barrier looks better and is faster. Inside a covered workers’ entrance, a tripod turnstile is the most economical lane. At an open boundary gate, at night, or where people could climb over a waist-high unit, the full height turnstile is the safer choice. Many Gurugram plants use all three at different points. Our full height turnstile guide and comparison guide explain the trade-offs.
What we check on a Gurugram site
- People at shift change. We count how many workers pass in the busiest 15 minutes and choose single or dual lane, and how many units, for that peak.
- Open gate, sun and rain. Most perimeter gates are open to the weather. We suggest SS304 or a good powder-coated finish, a canopy over the readers, a raised concrete base so rainwater does not stand, and a reader position where the face camera does not face the afternoon sun.
- Credential. Face recognition works well for labour with worn or dusty fingers and avoids lost cards. RFID cards are cheapest for short-term workers, and passes can carry an end date so access stops when a contract ends. Visitors can get a QR pass from a visitor management system.
- Emergency exit. The controller is linked to the fire alarm panel so the rotor turns freely in an emergency, and the site still needs a separate wide gate for goods, wheelchairs and evacuation. We test this at handover.
- Power and network. A UPS keeps the gate working through short power cuts, and a network link sends entries to the attendance software in real time.
Attendance and contractor reports
When the turnstile reader is also the attendance device, there is no separate punch. Entry and exit logs go to attendance software for shift, overtime and contractor-wise reports, so HR can match a contractor’s bill with real hours on site. During a drill, a live list of who is still inside helps the safety team at the assembly point.

Questions from Gurugram buyers
Do you install full height turnstiles at factory gates in Udyog Vihar and Sector 37?
Yes. We supply and install single and dual lane full height turnstiles at factory and warehouse perimeter gates across Gurugram, with face, card or fingerprint readers and attendance reports, and support them under AMC from our Sector 14 office.
Can a full height turnstile be installed at an open gate without a roof?
Yes. Choose SS304 or a good outdoor finish and outdoor-rated readers. We still recommend a canopy over the readers and electronics and a raised base so rainwater does not collect.
Single lane or dual lane for a Gurugram plant?
A single lane suits small gates with low traffic. A dual lane suits gates where many workers enter and leave at shift change, or where you want separate entry and exit lanes in one frame. We decide this from your peak count at the survey.
What happens in a fire or power failure?
We link the controller to the fire alarm panel and set the fail-safe mode so the rotor turns freely in an emergency, and test it at handover. A separate wide emergency gate is still needed.
