Where door frame metal detectors are used in Noida
A door frame metal detector (DFMD) screens every person who walks through it without contact and shows roughly where any metal is carried. The main door frame metal detector page explains how it works. In Noida we see four main uses:
- IT and ITES offices in Sector 62, Sector 63, Sectors 125–135 along the Noida Expressway and around Sectors 142–144. Many run day and night shifts, so the detector at the lobby has to cope with a shift-change crowd, not just the morning rush. It usually sits beside the flap barriers, with a separate visitor lane.
- Media houses and studios around Film City (Sector 16A), where staff, guests, crews and studio audiences come in at all hours, and screening has to be quick without holding up a live show.
- Malls, markets, hospitals and coaching centres, often around Sector 18 and the busy commercial sectors, where a DFMD works with an X-ray baggage scanner for bags and a handheld detector to clear alarms.
- Factories in the Phase 2 and Phase 3 industrial areas and the Noida SEZ, including electronics, mobile and component units, where staff are checked at the exit so small parts and components do not leave the plant. The workers’ gate may also have a full height turnstile.
Choosing the zone count
A 6 zone detector suits most Noida office receptions, clinics, schools and coaching centres. An 18 zone model is common at busy IT lobbies, malls and hospitals, where guards must clear alarms quickly at peak time. A 33 zone model is for strict screening at high-security entrances and large events. A single zone unit only says metal is present, so we suggest it only for very light use. More zones help the guard find the object faster; they do not make the detector “stronger”. See our multi zone DFMD guide.
Points we check at a Noida site
- Shift peaks. We ask how many people come in during the busiest 15 minutes at each shift change and plan lanes, guards and a tray table for phones, keys and ID cards accordingly.
- Exit screening in factories. For component checks at the exit, we set the sensitivity with your security and quality teams using the smallest parts you want to catch, and plan a place for lockers so staff leave phones and metal items outside the floor.
- Interference. Lifts, escalators, steel doors, heavy cables, motors and nearby machines cause false alarms. We test the spot first and keep two detectors far enough apart or on different channels.
- Studios and events. For audiences and events we suggest a portable unit on a stable base, and an outdoor-rated model or canopy if it will stand in the open.
- Power and accessibility. We check for battery backup or a UPS point, and keep a separate path for wheelchair users and people with medical implants.
What supply, installation and AMC include
- Site survey: entry width, peak footfall, power point and sources of interference.
- Supply of the recommended detector with the manufacturer warranty, plus handheld detectors and an X-ray scanner where needed.
- Installation: assembly, floor fixing or a stable portable base, power connection and sensitivity setting on site with test objects.
- Guard training: walk-through procedure, zone alarms, handheld follow-up and the daily self-test.
- AMC: periodic sensitivity checks, panel and cable inspection and breakdown visits, planned from our Gurugram office. See our AMC services.

Questions from Noida buyers
Do you supply door frame metal detectors to IT offices in Sector 62 and on the Noida Expressway?
Yes. We supply, install and maintain door frame metal detectors for offices in Sector 62, Sector 63, along the Noida Expressway and across Noida, usually 6 or 18 zone models placed beside the flap barriers, and support them under AMC.
Can a metal detector catch small components at a factory exit?
It can be set to detect quite small metal items, but very small parts may need a higher sensitivity and a handheld check. We test with the smallest parts you want to catch and set the detector with your security team.
Will the detector slow down our shift change?
Not if lanes are planned for the peak. We count the busiest 15 minutes, add a tray table and a handheld check point, and add a second lane where one is not enough.
Why does a metal detector give false alarms?
Nearby lifts, escalators, steel doors, cables, motors or a frame that is not fixed firmly are the usual causes. We test the spot before installation and set the sensitivity on site.
What is the price of a door frame metal detector in Noida?
It depends mainly on the zone count, indoor or outdoor model, extras such as counters or battery backup, and the number of lanes. The Noida price page shows starting prices; we send a written, itemised quotation after the survey.
