Where door frame metal detectors are used in Delhi
A door frame metal detector (DFMD) screens every person who walks through it without contact and shows roughly where any metal is carried. How it works and how zones differ is on our main door frame metal detector page. In Delhi the common sites are:
- Malls and shopping centres in Saket, Vasant Kunj, Rajouri Garden and across the city, usually with an X-ray baggage scanner for bags and separate lanes for men and women.
- Hotels in Aerocity, Mahipalpur and central Delhi, where guests must be screened quickly without a queue at the porch.
- Hospitals, schools and offices in Connaught Place, Nehru Place, Okhla and Jasola, at the main entry or the visitor gate beside the flap barriers.
- Banquet halls, farmhouse venues and exhibition halls that hold events often and keep their own portable units ready to move.
- Temples, gurudwaras and other places of worship, where crowds grow many times on festival days and screening must stay quick and respectful.
Choosing the zone count
A 6 zone detector suits most offices, clinics, schools and hotel side entries. An 18 zone model is common at malls, hospitals and busy hotel porches, where guards must clear alarms quickly. A 33 zone model is used where screening is strict, such as large events and high-security entrances. A single zone unit only tells that metal is present, so we suggest it only for very light use. More zones help the guard find the object faster; they do not make the detector “stronger”. Our multi zone DFMD price guide for Delhi explains the choice.
Points we check at a Delhi site
- Festival and event peaks. A temple or banquet hall may see ten times its usual crowd on certain days. We plan extra portable lanes for those days instead of oversizing the permanent setup.
- Separate lanes. Malls, places of worship and events often need separate lanes for men and women, with a screened area for frisking after an alarm.
- Interference. Escalators, lifts, steel doors, revolving doors, heavy cables and generators near the frame cause false alarms. We test the spot first and keep two detectors far enough apart or on different channels.
- Open porches and lawns. For outdoor use we suggest an outdoor-rated model or a canopy, and keep the control unit out of rain and direct sun.
- Power cuts. We check for battery backup or plan a UPS point so screening does not stop.
- Accessibility. We keep a separate path for wheelchair users and people with medical implants, cleared by a guard with a handheld detector.
Buying for a government office or PSU
Government offices, courts and PSUs usually buy door frame metal detectors through GeM (Government e-Marketplace). Mapple Infocom is a registered seller on GeM, and we can also supply against a tender with installation, training and AMC. Share the specification or bid number and we will tell you which model fits.
What supply, installation and AMC include
- Site survey: entry width, peak footfall, power point and sources of interference.
- Supply of the recommended detector with the manufacturer warranty, plus handheld detectors and an X-ray scanner where needed.
- Installation: assembly, floor fixing or a stable portable base, power connection and sensitivity setting on site with test objects.
- Guard training: walk-through procedure, zone alarms, handheld follow-up and the daily self-test.
- AMC: periodic sensitivity checks, panel and cable inspection and breakdown visits, planned from our Gurugram office. See our AMC services.

Questions from Delhi buyers
Do you supply door frame metal detectors in Delhi?
Yes. We supply, install and maintain single, 6, 18 and 33 zone door frame metal detectors for malls, hotels, hospitals, schools, offices, event venues and places of worship across Delhi. Visits are planned from our Gurugram office.
Which DFMD is best for a mall or hotel in Delhi?
Usually an 18 zone model, so guards can clear alarms quickly at peak hours, together with an X-ray baggage scanner for bags and a handheld detector for follow-up checks.
Can we add extra detectors only for festival or event days?
Yes. Portable detectors on a stable base can be added for peak days and moved between entrances; we plan the layout and power for them.
Can a government office buy through GeM?
Yes. Mapple Infocom is a registered seller on GeM. Share the specification or bid number and we will suggest the matching model.
What is the price of a door frame metal detector in Delhi?
It depends mainly on the zone count, indoor or outdoor model, extras such as counters or battery backup, and the number of lanes. The Delhi price page shows starting prices; we send a written, itemised quotation after the survey.
